Question: When will I find out what team I am on and the practice schedule?
Answer: The player draft is being held in early August. After the draft, the coaches will contact each player on their team and you will be given your schedule at that time.  If you have not received a call by Thursday, August 13th, please call the league director for your age group to get the details (click here for the "Coaches" page). DO NOT CALL before this as it takes the coaches a few days to make all their calls and contact every family.
Question: Where are the fields located?
Answer: Click here for field locations for both home and away games.
Question: I'm interesting in coaching, how do I become a coach?
Answer: The Big Lake Football Association is always looking for new volunteers to help coach.  If you are interested, please contact the League Director in the age group you are interested in (click here for the "Coaches" page) with a brief explanation who you are and what past coaching experience you may have. However, past coaching experience is not necessary to coach in our association.
Question: Can I request that my son play on the same team as his friend(s)?
Answer: We hold a player draft in grades 4 - 8, so we are not able to accommodate special requests on these levels.  Coaches and parents are great about doing ride shares, so transportation should never be a problem. Although we also have a draft for players in the 2nd & 3rd grade league, we do attempt to honor special requests at that age group.
Question: What equipment is provided by the The Big Lake Football Association, and what equipment do players need to provide?

Answer: The association provides players with the following: jerseys (that the players get to keep), helmet, shoulder pads, football pants w/pads and mouthguard. Players need to provide football shoes (any rubber cleated shoes such as baseball or soccer shoes are also okay).
Question: When does the season start, and when does it end?
Answer: Practices for the 2009 season start on Monday, August 17th for 2nd thru 6th graders. Games for 2nd-6th graders start on Thursday, September 3rd.  The season ends on Saturday, October 10th.
Question: On what nights are practices held?
Answer: Practices for 4th thru 8th graders are normally two nights per week, Mondays & Wednesdays. 2nd & 3rd graders practice once per week on either Monday or Wednesday. Each coach sets the practice schedule, so they vary slightly by team.
Question: What nights are games played, and what time do they start?
Answer: Grades 1 through 6 play their games on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and Saturday mornings.
